If you have heard about the phosphorous thing, I'm fine and so is everyone else here. Don't worry! I'm not going home because I don't need to. This wasn't terrorism or anything like that, it was just a train derailing. The phosphorous is heavy and it will settle down, and even if it didn't, it's moving away from Lviv and in a few days I will be in the Карпати (the Carpathians) which is in the opposite direction. So don't freak out. If you haven't heard about the phosphorous thing, this is what happened. A train or truck full of phosphorous derailed spilling phosphorous in the air yesterday, but don't worry. Everything is fine. Seriously, I saw babies outside yesterday so all is good.
Nevermind. I don't know what's going on. I might be leaving early, I might not. The Overseas Advisory Council says that Americans might want to stay out of the area, whatever that means. |

Yellow/white phosphorous.
Yeah, you're the first person I thought of when I heard about it.
Glad you're doing ok.
Well, I'm ok, but things might not be so kosher. The school told us that everything will be ok, and everything on the Ukrainian side of things is saying that everything will be fine, but a lot of western media is making it sound really dangerous. We're receiving a lot of conflicting information but someone called the US Embassy not too long ago so hopefully they'll have some answers. | |
